A fairly safe choice for an 8GB RAM module would be the Crucial CT8G4SFS824A (8GB DDR4 2400 MHz CL17). That one has already been found to work in many cases, though it appears that noone can give a 100% guarantee on any module due to the subtle differences in the 720+ machines that are around and that are not well understood. It might be that in the non-working cases the RAM had not been mounted correctly, but it could also be that there are a number of motherboard revisions around.
