Verbindung zur USV verloren.

My DS1812+ is my UPS server with my DS1821+ and D720+ as UPS clients. Every time I reboot the DS1812+ both my DS1821+ and D720+ send me emails saying the NAS has lost connection to the UPS, and the NAS has connected to the UPS.

/var/log/ups.log only contains information on the UPS health.

Log entries that you see in Log Center like UPS was disconnected or connected, Local UPS was plugged out or in, are saved in the /var/log/synolog/.SYNOSYSDB database.

That would appear to be an expected behaviour, I guess. When you restart a system, peripherals, such as USB ports are briefly disconnected and reset, hence the message on lost connection to the UPS.

Ja, weil die DS schaltet auch ein anderen DS aus und ein PC...

Dann würde ich die Ursache der Meldungen im Bereich dieser USV-Serverfunktion suchen.

Ich würd erst mal das Kabel checken, das klingt irgendwie nach wackler.
Gerade das Kabel von Eaton ist ja sowieso ein vergleichsweise dünnes.

Kabel testen und austauschen ist immer mal eine gute Idee.

Ich habe aber immer noch kein Log gesehen, das die Eingangsproblematik („Beim Stromausfall bekomme ich an der Synology, dass die Verbindung zur USV verloren ist.“) zeigt. Das einzige bisher gezeigte Log weist auf eine Trennung und Wiederverbindung des USB-Kabels über eine Stunde vor einem (simulierten?) Stromausfall hin. Da wurde auch noch nichts zu gesagt, ob da mal zu Testzwecken von Hand das USB-Kabel gezogen wurde oder nicht.

Das Passier wenn, die USV von Strom getrent ist. Beim 1-en Test hat sich DS gar nicht ausgeschaltet. Beim 2-en Test hat sich ausgeschaltet.
Bevor sich die USV wieder verbunden hat habe ich die Smartsteckdose wieder eingeschaltet. Eine Smartdose benutze ich damit ich ungefähr der Stromverbrauch sehen kann.

Ich habe diese Thema geöffnet, weil ich bezweifle, dass alles sauber funktioniert.

UPS ist nagel neu. So etwa eine Woche im Betrieb. Defekte Kabel... mehr oder weniger unwarscheinlich.

It could be dust in the USB port on the NAS or the USB cable could be loose in the USB port. Or the USB cable may next to a noisy power cable. Or it could be that the Eaton ECO 1200 is not compatible. https://www.synology.com/en-global/compatibility?search_by=category&category=upses

My old UPS works fine in any of my DS1812+'s USB 2 or USB 3 ports. But my new UPS only works in the USB 3 ports. The other day I plugged an eSATA cable into the NAS and the UPS started showing as disconnected. I tried switching between the two USB 3 ports multiple times and eventually the NAS could see the UPS but it could not get the brand, model, battery charge, voltage etc. My other Synology's would intermittently connect and then later disconnect. Windows NUT Client on my PC thought the UPS battery was low and wasn't charging.

I could not find another USB cable that was long enough so I connected a male to female USB cable between the existing USB cable and the NAS and everything started working again.

The Eaton Ellipse generally works with Synology systems. I use an Ellipse Pro 850 with a DS720+ and have installed an Ellipse Eco 650 with a DS220+ at my in-laws. Both work flawlessly. I‘d thus tend to assume that also an Eco 1200 will work with Synology DS‘s.
Looks rather like a cable or plug/socket issue then.
