First it's possible DiskStation will need more time than what you configure to enter the hibernation, as sometimes it needs time to close some working processes. These are as known issue when services are enabled, the internal HDD cannot enter hibernation mode:
Issues might affect HDD hibernation (depend on their operations)
? Attached USB HDD
? Cloud Station
? Media Server (some DMA / DLNA device might perform background tasks and media server may receive the request and respond)
? Syslog server
? Audio Station – Airplay
? Quick Connect
Issues will affect HDD hibernation
? DiskStation is making thumbnails or re-indexing the multimedia files after upgrading. There will be index/convert (synomkthumbd) process under resource monitor when this occurs. [ALWAYS]
? Webalizer (1hr or 5min) [ALWAYS]
? Local Master Browser [ALWAYS]
? eMule [ALWAYS]
? Download Station [RSS, Active Tasks]
? Logitech Media Server [ALWAYS]
? Mail Station [POP3 fetch]
? Surveillance Station [Doing Recording]
? DMA log is enabled in [Media Server]>[Diagnose]
? LAN Windows Media Player [Windows Service, Default On]
? Network Sharing Service
? Directory Server
? 3rd party software or optware like SABnzbd, Plex
? Too many process running and swap is used, ex DS109j
If your hard drive is capable of hibernating and you doesn't run the program mentioned above, or DiskStation has stopped re-indexing for a long time, then please help us to diagnose the hibernation problem.
Please follow the instructions below to check with your issue if none of the item you have run on your unit,
Please disconnect the network cable to see if your issue will be fixed.
>>If it will go hibernation, then the root cause is from external access
>>If it will not go hibernation, please remove all external devices/disable all packages/disable all services on your system and test the issue once again.
To disable all services, please check with it via System information --> Services and disable all.
To disable all packages, please disable them from Package Center.
