DSM 7.2 Nach DSM Update 7.2.2-72806 Update 2 wird immer wieder HDD2 nicht mehr erkannt

Heute das neue Netzteil eingebaut. Warte mal was nun passiert. Allerding fehlt mir noch die zweite HDD.
Ich traue mich nicht eine neue zu kaufen und einzubauen. Dann kille ich die eventuell ebenso.
Synology wird sich davon nichts annehmen.

also solche Synos werden weltweit millionenfach betrieben und zerstören keine Festplatten.

wir machen es alle hier auch so, Platten wechseln etc.

Was durch Stromausfälle passieren kann ist einfach durcheinender der Daten auf der Platte, da muss man dann schon je nach dem sogar die Platte löschen und wieder einbauen und System reparieren.

@ottosykora Danke für deine Rückmeldung. Heißt es wäre besser eine neue HDD zu kaufen und die RMA nicht mehr abzuwarten. Das ist irgendwie sehr bedenklich.

Nach einiger Zeit ein Update.
WD hat mir eine weitere HDD gesendet.
Diese habe ich mit CrystalDiskIno und dem Adapter an meinenLaptop angeschlossen.
Hier die Werte die mir angezeigt werden,

Einziger Unterschied äußerlich. Die anderen hatten ein weißes Etikett. Diese hier hat Kopf- und Fusszeile in rot.
Es steht dieses mal auch WD Red Plus im roten Bereich geschrieben. Wieder NASware 1.0? Es steht keine Version aufgedruckt. Bei meiner alten HDD stand dort NASware 3.0
Es wirkt wie mein letzter Versuch.
Neues Netzteil ist angeschlossen.
Eine quais neue Festplatte erhalten.
Was soll ich nun machen? Sie ist unformatiert.

Maybe WD are still using really, really, old labels that say NASware 1.0 (NASware 2.0 was released during 2013). If the drive is a WD40EFPX it would have NASware 3.0

NASware is just a marketing term that WD made up to call their Red series firmware.

• NASware 1.0 and 2.0 were only suitable for Desktop NAS with 5 or less drives.
• NASware 3.0 added some features related to vibration compensation so the drives can be used in a Desktop NAS with 8 or less drives. You can't update the firmware on a NASware 1.0 or 2.0 drive to 3.0 because the 3.0 drives

At first it seemed strange that a WD40EFPX would have 81.00A81 firmware but then I checked all my WD red drives.

• My really old WD Red WD30EFRX have 82.00A82
• My old SMR WD Red WD60EFAX have 82.00A82 and the label says NASware 3.0 (SMR!?!? I hate WD)
• My old WD Red Plus WD60EFRX have 82.00A82 and the label says NASware 3.0
• Yet my newer model WD Red Plus WD60EFZX has 81.00A81 and the label says NASware 3.0

I thought it would be better to check this HDD before using it in DSM.
It is now formatted in NTFS.

Crystal Disk Info shows a new, healthy, drive.

I have had drive formatted in a computer that were not seen by DSM. You should delete the existing partition(s) before inserting it into the Synology.

Done. HDD is empty. Now in repair mode.
I am now interested in the results. Will it work or will this hard drive even die?

hello everyone,

I have installed the third HDD in the DSM since the last post and so far it is running perfectly.
I hesitated a little with my feedback.
I have now swapped two components. Therefore, an exact assignment is not clear.

It may have been due to the HDDs, as the current one now had a different label.
Red and with the wording Red Plus. The other two had white labels. Could be a coincidence.
WD has also shown a completely different approach.
Everything was proactive on their part. I didn't have to explain anything this time. UPS was also already organised.
Perhaps the source of this HDD was different and not a typical RMA disc.

The second component that was exchanged was the power cable.
The one you recommended is working.
