When you use MariaDB, the database backup is in ..../@app/@mysql/baikal.sql.gz

There are a few enthousiastic pepole working on new Baikal releases. Main benefits will be an update of the SabreDav software and bugfixes. I will update the Synology package in due time, when the Baikal software is stable again.

Just updated my DS214+ and DS211j both with Baikal version 0.2.7. No issues encountered AFTER upgrading MariaDB and PHP packages, too.

Afterwards I've updated Baikal on my DS211j to version 0.4.3, found here https://github.com/fruux/Baikal without any problems. You should notice however that the subscription URL will change: http://sabre.io/baikal/upgrade.

Unfortunately no noticable changes in v0.4 found. Version 2 should give us more enhancements as far as I understand. Guess a simple upgrade like the above process will not be possible, though.

Ich musste heute das System neu aufsetzten, habe Baikal auch wieder installiert.
Aber meine vorhandene Daten hat er nicht übernommen, ist das so oder habe ich ein Fehler bei der einrichtung gemacht?

Jetzt sind die Daten alle ausser 20 Einträge weg, aber im PHPMyAdmin müssten sie noch da sein, weil dort in der Tabelle unter Datensätze steht ne andere Anzahl ?

So you are using MySQL (or MariaDB) and only have 20 contacts left.
Where are these 20, in your mail client (or so)?
How many do you see on de Baikal dashboard?

Oh now I know where I made ??the mistake . I use MariaDB and I had not entered .
If I could think of where you asked if MariaDB or MySQl .

I monitor the progress on the new Baikal on regular base, and updating the Synology package with the latest Baikal version (currently 0.4.5) has been prepared already.

However, so far I don't see much user benefit, while every now and then users report upgrade problems.
Last thing we want is loosing data (not everyone has a proper database backup and knows how to restore in case something fails...)

Therefore I think we should wait until is stabilizes, this could still take several months.

How did you upgrade? I have 0.2.7 installed and tried to upgrade to 0.4.5, but doesn't work. I also have two baikal-folders in "web", "baikal.app" where I copied the new files to, and "baikal", which I can't access (admin).

And how can I install 0.4.x directly (don't need the ink in DSM)?

The conversion of the data from 0.2.7 data 0.4.x is done by the Baikal software, but seems to be cumbersome.
I would not recommend upgrading.

I have been trying to install this package on DSM 6 unsuccessfully for some time. First I got errors installing the package. It took a while to figure out that, in DSM6, I need to have the "Web Station" package installed. Once I did this, it installed without problems and I am able to access the admin console for baikal, create users and resources, etc. So, it appears everything is fine.

However, I am unable to access any of the addressbooks or calendars either using iOS or any other method. When I try to add a new contacts or calendar account from an iOS device, I get "validation failed" errors. When I try to access it from my Windows PC using CalDav Synchronizer or any other CalDav synchronization utility, I get a 405 "method not allowed" error. I thought the problem might be that a vhost on webstation was not created during installation, however I created it and it doesn't appear to make any difference.

I am not a unix expert not a web development expert. Can someone give me some ideas on how I can continue to troubleshoot this issue? Feels like I am close but I am lost. I am happy to provide any additional information needed.

All my data is in the data sky instead of in my phone.

There is already a new malfunction-free running Baikal version?

Although the official Baikal website does not say anything about it, I only found out today that the main developer has stopped:

I am afraid that no one else will pickup Baikal from here.

Meanwhile, DSM has standard CardDAV since long time and CalDAV was already supported with WebDAV.
Therefore I think it is wise to leave Baikal and start using these standard features.
